PIANO The piano is a musical instrument played by means of a keyboard. It produces sound by striking steel strings with felt hammers. The piano was originally known as the pianoforte, the Italian for “soft-loud,” which indicates its wide dynamic range and its capacity for nuance. Children can begin lessons as early as age five.
Betty Bridges specializes at teaching students to play duets.
